We’ve been forced to close our Utica office location temporarily. The landlord has closed the building to outside visitors. There are a few ways to get your tax documents to us:

Coronavirus (COVID-19) Office Update 03/20/2020
The State has deemed accounting firms an essential service, so for now our offices remain open while we work on as many tax returns as possible. About half of our staff is working from home, while the rest of us are keeping to our offices. Please remember our offices are closed to walk in traffic and face to face meetings.
The IRS and NYS have given an automatic 90 day extension to file and pay. The April 15 deadline is being pushed to July 15. While we are still trying to get out as many returns as we can, rest assured your tax returns and amounts due (if any) are not due until July 15.
As your returns are completed, we will reach out to you.

Coronavirus (COVID-19) Response Follow-Up 03/18/2020
There seems to be some confusion with our previous email regarding our response to the Coronavirus (COVID-19).
Our offices are still open for business, but will remain closed to walk in traffic and face to face meetings. Our staff is still hard at work preparing tax returns for the April 15 deadline. You may continue to drop off documents, email them using a secure link, or upload them to our cloud portal at gandwcpas.sharefile.com.
Completed tax returns will be mailed, emailed, or delivered via our secure cloud portal. Our offices will reach out to you to confirm the delivery method.
The Treasury Secretary has stated in a news conference yesterday that the IRS tax payment deadline of April 15 has been pushed to July 15. We have no confirmation from the IRS or NYS on this decision. Once we have confirmation, we will advise you.

Coronavirus (COVID-19) Response 03/17/2020
As the NYS Department of Health continues to monitor and provide updates regarding the coronavirus disease (COVID-19), we are taking all necessary precautions for the safety of our clients and staff. Effective immediately, our Canastota and Utica offices will be closed to visitors and clients through the end of April.
The IRS and NYS Department of Taxation and Finance have not given us any indication that the April 15 tax deadline will be automatically extended. Client documents can still be dropped off at each office, mailed to us through the post office, or scanned and uploaded to our secure cloud portal. When the returns are completed, they will either be mailed to you, or sent via secure email or cloud portal. We will reach out to each of you to confirm your choice of delivery.
This was a difficult step for us. We are first and foremost a service business and personal relationships are paramount, but the potential exposure to our staff and/or clients is not worth the risk.
Throughout this challenging time, communication between us will be important. We will still answer our telephones and respond to your emails.
